Colchester Public Schools -
Representative Joe Courtney Visits Colchester Elementary School
Representative Joe Courtney recently visited Colchester Elementary School regarding the new
support for special education programming being offered to local K-12 public schools in eastern
CT under the American Rescue Plan. Colchester schools will receive nearly $100,000. During
his visit, Representative Courtney met with CES Principal Judy O’Meara, Assistant Principal
Meghan Amado, Director of Teaching and Learning Charles E. Hewes, and Director of Pupil
Services & Special Education Kathleen Perry to discuss the response to the pandemic at the
elementary and district level and use of federal funds as part of that response.
