Please include as correspondence in your next meeting packet. The following email was sent to Senator Needleman and
Representative Mark DeCaprio's respective offices.

| am writing to express my appreciation for the Colchester school system, specifically Colchester Elementary School (CES), Jack
Jackter Intermediate School and William J Johnston Middle School. | currently have a son in 1st grade and daughter in kindergarten at
CES.

On Sunday, May 18 there was an electrical fire at CES which caused the school to be closed on Monday, May 19. The administration
immediately began developing a plan to accommodate all displaced CES students at the two other schools. They were able to
coordinate all this and only have a two hour delay on Monday morning, which allowed for the children to not miss a day of school.
Having no school at CES would have made their last day of school a Monday in June.

The administration was able to coordinate classrooms, bus schedules, nursing staff with medications, cafeteria meals, specials
classes, communications, custodial cleaning of affected areas and much more than | am even aware of in a very short period of time
(and on a Sunday).

| would like to commend the schools for their fast action, flexibility, creativity, and teamwork. | feel this is the perfect opportunity to
recognize the administration, teachers and staff for their outstanding efforts. Teachers from Jack Jackter and William J Johnston
schools were welcoming to the CES students who were nervous to attend a new school with older children and were flexible with their
classrooms and schedules. CES teachers made their students feel safe and secure in the unfamiliar environment. My son came home
very excited that he took turns reading with an older student.

As a leader in our State, | urge you to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding administration, teachers and staff who went
above and beyond.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Additionally, I've included the name of the Colchester Superintendent and
Colchester Elementary School Principal below should you wish to contact them directly.
