Mr. Sullivan:
l a m requesting that the Board of Education consider setting the date of the June 2025
C o m m e n c e m e n t Ceremony. Being the single largest event at Bacon A c a d e m y each year, the
c e r e m o n y has a large impact on m a n y families. lhave heard from several parents that being
a b l e to p l a n a r o u n d a specific d a t e w o u l d b e a b e n e f i t in t e r m s of c o o r d i n a t i o n w i t h o u t o f t o w n
family m e m b e r s a n d planning of celebrations. B a c o n A c a d e m y staff w o u l d also b e able to
complete m a n y organizational tasks related to the c e r e m o n y earlier with a firm date
established. T h e r e q u e s t to set t h e d a t e w o u l d e l i m i n a t e t h e u n c e r t a i n t y of g r a d u a t i o n in t h e
event of inclement weather days.
As such, i a m requesting that Thursday, June 12, 2025 be established as the date for the
C o m m e n c e m e n t C e r e m o n y for B a c o n A c a d e m y ’ s Class of 2 0 2 5 . in t h e e v e n t of i n c l e m e n t
w e a t h e r , t h e c o m m e n c e m e n t w o u l d b e h e l d i n d o o r s in t h e s c h o o l g y m , a s is o u r n o r m a l
secondary location.
