                                                    PRINCIPAL


The Principal shall be appointed by the Board of Education in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes.

The Principal shall hold his/her appointment on the basis of a valid and appropriate Connecticut certificate. The
Principal may vacate his/her position by filing a written resignation with the Board of Education.

GENERAL

The Principal shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools. He/she shall work within the state
statutes and Board of Education policies to administer and supervise the school to which he/she is assigned. The
Principal shall be responsible for and shall have authority over the actions of students, certified and non-certified
employees, persons hired to perform special tasks, and visitors.

The teachers and all other personnel of the school shall be directly responsible to the Principal for the satisfactory
fulfillment of the duties assigned to them.

The Principal shall keep the Superintendent of Schools informed of activities in his/her building by means the
Superintendent of Schools deems appropriate.
