BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT : Margo Gignac and Donna Antonacci.

ADMINISTRATION PRESENT : Superintendent Daniel P. Sullivan, lll.

OTHERS PRESENT : Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Alyssa Fratoni



  1.   MEETING OPENING
       1.1   Call to Order
             D. Antonacci called the meeting to order at 3:43 PM

              M. Gignac and D. Antonacci present. S. Tracey-Calash was not present.

       3.1. "Approval of minutes from Policy Committee Meeting on June 13,2024.
            Motion by: M. Gignac
            Motion to approve minutes from June 13,2024 Policy Committee Meeting.

          *Discussion
       4.1               and Possible Action on Policy 1411 Law Enforcemen t officials
              Motion by: D. Antonacci

               Motion to revise Policy 1411 Law Enforcement Officials based on feedback from
          the Board at the June 4, 2024 Board of Education meeting. Policy 1411 Law
          Enforcement Officials will go to the Full Board for Second Read at the next Board of
          Education meeting.

               Roll Call: All in favor
               Vote: Motion canied

         4.2    "Discussion and Possible Action on Policy 2130 Job Descriptions.
               The Committee discussed Policy 2130 Job Desciptions and made
         non-substantive policy changes that will be brought to the Full Board for First and
         Second Read at the next Board of Education meeting.

         4.3 tDiscussion and Possible Action on Policy 2141 Recruitment and Appointment of
Superintendent.
                Motion by: D. Antonacci
                Motion to strike Policy 2141 Recruitment and Appointment of Supeintendent
         because it is already covered in Bylaw 9000 Section 2C. Policy 2141 Recruitment and
         Appointment of Superintendent will go to the Full Board for First Read at the next Board
         of Educauon meeting.

         4.4 tDiscussion and Possible Action on Policy 2151 Recruitment of Administrative
Staff-
               The Committee discussed Policy 2151 Recruitment of Administrative Staff and
         made non-substantive changes that will be brought to the Full Board for First and
         Second Read at the next Board of Education meeting.

         4.5 'Discussion and Possible Action on Policy 2151-R Recruitment of Administrative
Staff Regulation.
              The Committee discussed Policy 2151-R Recruitment of Administrative Staff
Regulation, Superintendent Sullivan stated that he will get Human Resources Coordinator
Pauline Goetz's opinion and input on possible revisions. No action was taken at this time.

         4.6 *Discussion and Possible Action on Policy 2400 Evaluation of Superintendent and
Other Administrators
                Xlotion by: D. Antonacci
                Motion to table Policy 2400 Evaluation of Supeintendent and Other
         Administrators until the next Policy Committee meeting in order to get Committee
         Member S. Tracey-Calash's input. D. Antonacci will also work on Policy 2400 Evaluation
         of the Supedntendent and Other Administrators and have possible revisions to show at
         the next Policy meeting.

         4.7    *Discussion and Possible Action on Series 2000 Policies.
                  Motion by: M. Gignac
                  Motion to strike Policy 2210 Administrative Leeway in Absence of Board Policy

because it is already the responsibility of the Superintendent to inform the Board of the
new necessary policies. Policy 2210 Administrative Leeway in Absence of Board Policy
will be brought to the Full Board for First Read at the ne)d Board of Education meeting.

        Motion by: M. Gignac
        Motion to strike Policy 2220 Representative and Deliberative Groups because it
is beyond the purview ofthe Board. Policy 2220 Representative and Deliberative Groups
will be brought to the Full Board for First Read at the next Board of Education meeting.

        Vote: Motion carried

       The Committee discussed Policy 223'l Policy and Regulations Systerns but no
       action was taken at this time.

        Motion to strike Policy 2232 Standard Announcements (Dismissal of
ClasseVleachers.) because it is beyond the purview of the Board. Policy 2232 Standard
Announcements (Dismissal of Classes/Ieachers) will be brought to the Full Board for
First Read at the ne)lt Board of Education meeting.
        Second: D. Antonacci
       Roll Call: All in favor
       Vote: Motion canied

       Motion to strike Policy 2250 Monitoing of Product and Process Goals because it
is beyond the purview ofthe Board. Policy 2250 tulonitoring of Product and Process
Goals will be brought to the Full Board for First Read at the next Board of Education
meeting.

       Vote: Motion carried

         Motion by: D. Antonacci
         Motion to strike Policy 2300 Code of Ethics because it is redundant with
applicable laW unnecessary given that there are administrative job descriptions
approved by the Board and administration must adhere to the Connecticut Code of
Professional Responsibility. Policy 2300 Code of Ethicswill be brought to the Full Board
for First Read at the next Board of Education meeting.

         Vote: Motion carried

        Motion by: D. Antonacci
       Motion to strike Policy 2300.1 Code of Professional Responsibility for School
Administrators because it is redundant with applicable law, unnecessary given that there
are administrative job descriptions approved by the Board and administration must
adhere to the Connecticut Code of Professional Responsibility- Policy 2300.1 Code of
       Professional Responsibility for School Administrators will be brought to the Full Board for
       First Read at the next Board of Education meeting.

             Motion to table Policy 25OO Administrative Repois until the next Policy
       Committee Meeting to get input from Committee Member S. Tracey-Calash.

              The Committee has tabled this until the next meeting.
