4. *PRIORITY DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS
4.1 *Discussion and Possible Action on Promotion Policy
a. Bacon Academy Principal Amy Begue, backed by Superintendent Sullivan and Assistant
Superintendent Kuckel, asked the Committee to review the Promotion Policy due to the fact that
it is no longer following the state requirements to graduate. The policy that Colchester Public
Schools currently holds is much stricter than what the state now requires. The Committee
discussed and came to the conclusion that these requirements need to be brought to the
Curriculum Committee meeting on May 8, 2024 and to invite Principal Begue to that meeting.
Motion by: M. Gignac
Motion to eliminate the math and english requirements in the current Promotion Policy in order
to advance from grade to grade.

Vote: Motion carried
