Antonacci called the meeting to order at 3:04 PM 1.2 Roll Call Everyone present 2. PUBLIC COMMENT 2.1 For public comments, please see Bylaw on Meeting Conduct a. No public comment 3. *CONSENT AGENDA. 3.1 Approval of Policy Committee Meeting Minutes from March 25, 2024 Motion by: S. Tracey-Calash Motion to approve minutes from March 25, 2024 Policy Committee Meeting Second: M. Gignac Roll Call: All in favor Vote: Motion carried 4. *PRIORITY DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS 4.1 *Discussion and Possible Action on Promotion Policy a. Bacon Academy Principal Amy Begue, backed by Superintendent Sullivan and Assistant Superintendent Kuckel, asked the Committee to review the Promotion Policy due to the fact that it is no longer following the state requirements to graduate. The policy that Colchester Public Schools currently holds is much stricter than what the state now requires. The Committee discussed and came to the conclusion that these requirements need to be brought to the Curriculum Committee meeting on May 8, 2024 and to invite Principal Begue to that meeting. Motion by: M. Gignac Motion to eliminate the math and english requirements in the current Promotion Policy in order to advance from grade to grade. Second: S. Tracey-Calash Roll Call: All in favor Vote: Motion carried 4.2 *Series 1000 Board of Education Policies a. The Committee suggested further discussion at the next meeting. b. Next meetings scheduled: i. Wednesday, April 24, 2024 2:00 PM-3:00 PM ii, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM iii. | Monday, May 6, 2024 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM 5.
