Chair Oliphant called the meeting to order at 5:31 PM.
1.2 Roll Call
Chair Oliphant conducted a roll call of the Board members present.

2.1. Discussion and Possible Action on Appointment of Superintendent of Schools
(discussion proposed for executive session)
Motion: To enter into executive session for the purpose of discussion on the
appointment of Superintendent of Schools inviting Dr. Thomas Y. McDowell.
Motion by: Margo Gignac
Second by: Rosemary Gignac
Roll Call: Margo Gignac, Rosemary Gignac, Michelle Millington, Donna Antonacci,
Mary Tomasi, Christopher Rivers, Alexander Oliphant
Vote: Unanimous
Entered into executive session at 5:34 PM.
Returned to public session at 5:46 PM.
Motion: In accordance with Section 10-157 of the Connecticut General Statutes, that the
Board appoint Daniel P. Sullivan, III as Superintendent of Schools, effective as soon as
possible, and continuing through June 30, 2025, subject to the following conditions:
1. approval of the Commissioner of Education in accordance with Section 10-157 of
the Connecticut General Statutes;
2. satisfactory completion of all statutory requirements concerning the hiring of
Board of Education employees; and
Moved further that the Board Chairperson be authorized to finalize and execute the
proposed employment contract with Daniel P. Sullivan, III on behalf of the Board.
