June 6, 2022
Dear Judy O’Meara,
Please accept this letter as a formal notification that | am resigning from my position as a
Special Education Teacher with Colchester Public Schools. My last day of employment will be
June 30, 2022.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to work and grow professionally over the past 6 years
as a resource and life skills teacher. I've enjoyed working with a great team of professionals
and related service providers. I’ve learned to become a much more flexible teacher
overcoming daily scheduling challenges especially over these past 2 years. | have learned a
great deal more about speech generating devices thanks to our speech and language
pathologists as well as our amazing two half days of training with EastConn for a specific
student that underwent an assistive technology evaluation.
During the last few weeks | will do everything possible to wrap up any loose ends. | have been
working on and plan to prepare my students’ academic programming to reflect their new IEPS.
| would be willing to help out in any way this summer to transition a new teacher into my
position.
| wish only the best for my beloved students and their families at Colchester Elementary
School. | will miss them all dearly. | will miss my amazing team of professionals to include the
speech and language pathologists and behavior analyst that | collaborated with on a frequent
basis.
Please let me know if there is anything else | can do to aid during the transition.
Sincerely,
Melissa Dei
