According to the Board of Education Policy on weeding (6163.1 e&f), Colchester Elementary
School would like to remove the following outdated teaching materials that no longer support
new science and social studies standards and/or Science of Reading research:
● Outdated and/or damaged guided reading texts and big books for classroom instruction
and small group interventions
● Grade 2 social studies textbooks copyright date 2003
● Grade 2 Full Option Science System (FOSS) kits copyright 2002
Some texts are beyond repair, damaged, and/or moldy will be thrown out. I am in search of
non-profit literacy charities to donate some gently used texts for any remaining materials.
