Administration Present: J. Burt, Superintendent, Dr. Hewes, Director of Teaching and
Learning
1. Call to Order
C. McGlynn called the meeting to order at 5:01 PM.
2. New Business
2.1 NGSS Science Curriculum
Dr. Hewes provided an overview of the proposed NGSS Science curriculum.
Committee members engaged in a discussion and asked questions regarding the
scope and sequence, content, and implementation of the curriculum.
Motion: C. McGlynn
To move the NGSS Science curriculum as presented to the full Board for
adoption.
Second: M. Koziol
Vote: Unanimous in favor.
2.2 Visual Literacy Curriculum
Dr. Hewes provided an overview of the proposed Visual Literacy curriculum.
Committee members engaged in a discussion and asked questions regarding the
scope and sequence, content, and implementation of the curriculum. Further
discussion is required by the entire Board regarding the scope and sequence of
the curriculum.
Motion: C. McGlynn
To move the Visual Literacy curriculum as presented to the full Board for
adoption with the exception of the Recommended Scope & Sequence
Second: M. Koziol
Vote: Unanimous in favor.
2.3 Manufacturing Internship Opportunity

Superintendent Burt updated committee members on the event hosting
Congressman Joe Courtney, as related to the Manufacturing Internship
Opportunity.
