From the Desk of the Superintendent
While we are in the midst of the winter season and snowy days, it is remarkable to think that the
first day of spring is just over a month away. The budget process, which begins in the fall,
continues through the spring and concludes with the adoption of Colchester's Town and
Education Budgets. As the budget process unfolds for the 2022-2023 school year, presentations
and budget documents will be posted on the Colchester Public Schools website at
www.colchesterct.org. We encourage parents and community members to participate in the
process. The public can provide input at our regular meetings, budget workshops, and through
email at budget@colchesterct.org. The Board of Education tab on the CPS website has an
abundance of information available and we encourage parents and community members to visit
our website to learn more about the Colchester Board of Education and the education budget.
In the fall, the Board of Education endorsed the budget priorities for the 2022-2023 school year.
The focus of Strengthen, Grow, and Sustain, continues to guide our budget process as we look
to advance our vision for the District. Some of these priorities include: strengthening the district’s
intervention program, enhancing the district’s capacity to address the social, emotional, and
physical needs of our students, creating a funding plan for long-term facility improvement
projects, and continued funding around the implementation of long-range and sustainable
school safety and security plan.
The 2022-2023 Budget Year Key Meeting Dates are listed below. Please refer to the Colchester

location.
