                           Registered Behavior Technician
                                   Job Description

Overview:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who
practices under the close, ongoing supervision of the district’s Board Certified Behavior
Analyst (BCBA). The RBT will implement individualized behavioral and skill acquisition
programs that have been designed through the collaborative efforts of the BCBA and
the student’s school based PPT/Section 504/SRBI team . This individual is responsible
for maintaining their RBT Certification outlined by Behavior Analyst Certification Board
(BACB). Maintenance of the RBT Certification includes adherence to the BACB’s
current ethical codes and ability to apply the concepts outlined in the BACB’s RBT Task
List.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
     ● Assist the Behavior Analyst with functional assessment procedures
     ● Conduct preference assessments
     ● Implement and train staff on a variety of data collection procedures
     ● Enter data and update graphs using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
     ● Implementation of individualized treatment plans that consist of antecedent
         and consequence based interventions
     ● Collect data on the occurrence and non-occurrence of behaviors targeted for
         increase or decrease
     ● Provide session notes/summary of student progress as it pertains to
         treatment goals
     ● Implement procedures and tasks aligned to the RBT Task List’s primary
         content areas: Measurement, Assessment, Skill Acquisition, Behavior
         Reduction, Documentation and Reporting, and Professional Conduct and
         Scope of Practice.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
     ● Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form using positive
        interpersonal skills
     ● Actively seek clinical direction from supervisor in a timely manner
     ● Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis
     ● Experience working with students that exhibit challenging behaviors.
     ● Ability to create data collection forms/systems
     ● Ability to describe events in observable and measurable terms
     ● Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and workplace data collection,
        storage, transportation, and documentation requirements.
