Proposal for the purchase of Choral Shells
The music department would like to purchase five choral shells at the cost of $14,962
including shipping.
Purpose: Choral shells are a popular and widely used method of amplifying the sound
of a band or choir without the use of technology, or in addition to a microphone sound
system. They stand behind the risers and help to project the sound out into the
auditorium space. These work extremely well and are used by many high schools,
colleges, and professional venues. In our auditorium space at Bacon Academy, sound
projection is extremely poor. The design of the space is not for optimal sound and
amplification is imperative for all music performances. This shell system would be used
in all future concerts and would raise the level of performances at Bacon Academy.
Plan for funding the purchase of these Choral Shells ($14,962)
