Recycling SMART Boards

Dear Board of Education,
This letter is to inform the Board of Education that we have 40 SMART Boards that need to be
discarded from storage to make room for PPE supplies.
The cost to recycle these SMART Boards is $500. Another option is to break them apart and add
them to our normal trash removal. We sent out communication last year to any local
organizations that may want them as a donation and we were able to donate 12 of the boards.
My recommendation is to break them apart and add them to our normal trash removal as the
boards are old and most recycling companies will not take them due to the low value and bulky
size.
