Dear Mr. Burt,
| am writing to inform you that | will be formally retiring at the end of the current school year on
June 30, 2021. | have been providing speech therapy services in Connecticut's public schools for
36 years. | look forward to having more flexibility with my time after | retire.
The decision of exactly when to retire took some time and was made more difficult in light of the
current pandemic. While teaching this year will present unprecedented challenges, in my heart of
hearts, | was just not ready to leave. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a career | find fulfilling. |
truly enjoy my work and fully expect after | retire, | will continue on in some capacity for a few
more years.
It has been a pleasure to work with the exceptional staff in the Colchester district. They are a
dedicated crew that really demonstrate the meaning of teamwork. | am lucky to have spent half
of my career with such caring and gifted coworkers. | will miss each and every one of them.
