Dear Mr. Burt,
Please accept this letter as notification of my retirement from
the Colchester School! District, and in particular, Bacon Academy. |
will be retiring at the end of this 2020-2021 school year. If the
academic calendar holds true in this age of pandemic, my last day of
employment will be June 17, 2021. | have genuinely enjoyed the time
| have spent at Bacon Academy. | am very happy that | have spent
every school year - starting in September, 1983- at this venerable
institution.
Retiring from education has been a difficult decision for me
especially since | am still excited every weekday morning knowing
that | will be working yet another day with Colchester’s diligent
students, conscientious staff and indefatigable administration. |
have always given my best to my students. In return, they have given
their best to me. This year, despite all of the COVID constraints, has
proved to be no different.
During my years of service at Bacon Acdemy, | have grown,
flourished and had incredible life changing experiences. | have
learned much from collaborating colleagues and, hopefully, | have
given them something worthy in return.
| wish you and everyone else in the district all the best in the
years to come. | Know you will continue to hire staff members who
have true hearts for children, and individuals who will be inspirational
role models.
