3. *MOTION(S) REGARDING OUTCOME OF EXPULSION HEARING ON STUDENT A
    Motion by: A. Domeika
The Board of Education finds that the student who is the subject of this hearing did, on
January 28, 2020, possess and use marijuana off campus in a manner that was seriously
disruptive of the educational process based on its proximity to the school and the
involvement of three other students from Bacon Academy, including two juveniles. Further,
the student’s conduct endangered his fellow students.

The Student who is the subject of this hearing is expelled from the Colchester Public
Schools for one calendar year, beginning on January 29, 2020 and ending on January 28,
2021 (“the Period of Expulsion”). During the period of expulsion, the Student may not
appear on any Colchester Public Schools grounds, nor participate in school or school district
activities or functions whether they occur on or off school grounds. A failure to abide by
these prohibitions may result in the charges of criminal trespass and/or further additional
disciplinary action. If the Student is required to go onto school grounds for any academic or
other reason, the Student shall contact the school administration to discuss the possibility of
appearing on school grounds, and receive permission from the administration in advance.

The Student shall be provided during the period of expulsion with an alternative educational
opportunity, in accordance with the law.
