TUITION FEES
Tuition Fees
The Board of Education will permit non-resident students from other school districts to
attend local schools when they can be accommodated in existing classes. The students or
their sending district shall pay a tuition fee to be established annually by the Board of
Education. Students will be charged any excess costs for programs and services provided
beyond the general education curriculum in addition to the base tuition rate. Non-resident
attendance with tuition shall be for one school year or less to be extended pending
approval. The Superintendent shall retain the right to terminate a non-resident student
should the student violate school or district policy as set forth in the contract between the
parents/guardians and the Board. The tuition fee may be adjusted as changes in costs
indicate unless a multiple year agreement to provide educational facilities is entered into
with another Board of Education. Notice shall be given at least one year prior to the
discontinuance of service for non-resident high school students.
When a student is accepted into a special education program, the tuition cost shall be the
total of any excess costs for programs and services provided beyond the general education
curriculum or as set by the Board of Education. The per student expense is defined as the
approved annual budget less transportation, special education, and free/reduced lunch
which is then divided by the project enrollment.
